It's time for a change

So in or around July of 2012 I decided to take the camera out and shoot some "before" pics.  The seeds were already planted in my head to make this life long change once and for all.  I truly wanted to see what type of clay I would be molding.... I'm not afraid of sharing these pictures, because it's a true testament at how I feel about really helping others.  If I can't show you what I've done for myself, how can I expect anyone to show me the same...

Pic taken of me July 2013 (at or around 315 pounds)

After July came and went, and the seeds that were planted started to grow and take form,  my thought process changed as well.  I started to really dive into studying more on health, fitness, and nutrition.  I read some books and listened to quite a bit of Pod Casts on my 2 hour commute to work.  Now a days my commute is only about 30 minutes, but still long enough to listen to some great and inspiring audio.

In October and November of 2012 those seeds really started to grow.  The more information I could absorb into my crazy little brain, the better I was doing.   I was becoming obsessed with WANTING to make this transformation, but trying to figure out the true science behind it all.   There are SOOOOO many lose weight quick schemes on the market and in front of our faces on a daily basis.  I have been victim to so many of those.  They were all so easy to be Conned into.   Especially when you're desperate for that quick fix.

As I started to learn more about the science and the psychology of health and wellness, I started to apply those into my daily life.   I will talk more about nutrition on another blog post down the road.  Right now, I just want to focus on the psychology of what happened in my brain.   I talk alot about the wires in my brain finally making the right connection.  It has taken a very long time for that to happen for me, but it did.  As I was learning more and actually understanding and loving all of this new information, those wires were connecting better and better.  Before I knew it I really was starting to develop a habit.

Habits are something that is all based on the psyche.  It takes roughly 4 to 6 weeks to develop 1 habit and a lifetime to break it.  Eating healthy was my first habit that I needed to start with.  I already knew in a sense which workouts were the best for me, that is until I met DDP Yoga....  That's also will be a whole different blog post.  But eating was my arch enemy.  Food was my addiction, it was my drug.  Not good food either.  I loved bread, pasta, dairy, grease, starch, sugar, and bad fats.  Boxed foods, canned foods, bagged foods, fast foods and anything that the common fat person enjoys eating.  Those were all of the things that were breaking me down.

I changed my eating one food at a time.  It was almost like a food change check list.   As one thing would change, I would move to the next one.  It was a rough road at first, and to this day can still be.  I can tell you now however, that I am more cognisant of what I put into my body.

There is a study that shows when you changing only 1 factor in your life, you have a 90 % chance of success.  With that being said,  if you try to change only 2 things in your life at the same time,  your chance of success rate drops down to 20 percent.

That's a huge difference and that is why the first thing I tried to change was my nutrtion.  I wanted to start from the inside and work my way out.   My feeling is that nutrition is 80 to 90 % the change factor.  Without a sound base in nutrtion it doesn't matter how long or even what you do physically.

After a few months of changing the way and what I eat, it was time to find the science in exercise and that is where I was introduced to a man DDP!!!!!
